31 December 2011 - VIND Website - Squadron Courses Calendar page
I would be grateful if all STOs would let me have a list of their proposed squadron courses for the Spring 2012 session with start and finish dates and name/ 'phone number of contact person. We hope to set up (in the near future) a Course Calendar web page listing all VIN District courses with links to squadron web sites.

31 December 2011 - VIND Exam procedures
I hope that you all had a great Christmas and please have a Happy Healthy and Safe 2012.
Now that the Fall Boating Exams are completed (apart from a few re-takes) I would like to remind all STOs that they are required to return all used and unused Boating Examinationm papers to me, together with the marking keys. For those of you organising re-take exams please wait until you have compleded these exams before sending all papers original/ re-takes back to me.

21 December 2011 - CPS Online PCOC Training Program will be open to the public in the early New Year
Message from Joe Gatfield National Executive Officer (until October Joe was the National Training Officer):
It is finally with great pleasure that I advise you that the Distance Education Team has finally received their final approvals from Transport Canada. We actually received the final approval on November 22nd, however, as per the plan discussed in Halifax, we still had more work to do with the interface from OASIS (WBAS) to the Transport Canada exam platform. This has now been accomplished and the finished package, including the exam interface, has just been turned over to the support team for the internal trial period. As we are approaching Christmas, this trial will go over the Christmas period and on January 3, 2012, when we expect to allow the public access to our On Line Program.
This will be on our main web page and will lead them to the On Line entry level page as many of you have seen from various Marketing presentations in the last year. Marketing has been working hard to get ready and you will see examples of ads in the next edition of Canadian Yachting. For your information, there will be an "Introductory Price" of $39.95 until February 15th when the price will then become $49.95.
Our Congratulations and Thanks to all of those who have made this possible
